OFSAA Tournament Update
The First Annual High School Invitational tournament is just a week and a half away.
The tournament organizers have decided to combine the Girls Junior and Girls Senior divisions into one Girls Varsity division. This division is open to students from grades 9 through to 12.
The Boys Junior tournament will take place October 18th at Cathedral High School while the Boys Senior and Girls Varsity games will take place at both Cathedral High School and Sherwood Secondary School on October 19th. Games for all three divisions are played between 8 AM and 8 PM. A full schedule will be released on October 15th.
Because gym time is limited, we are enforcing a maximum number of teams per division:
Team entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis but priority will be given to a school that is registering their first team per division. So if registration for Senior Boys is full and School A has three Senior Boys teams and School B enters their first team, School B will replace one of the School A teams. Please make sure to submit your registration and payment as soon as possible.
International Floorball Federation uniform requirements are in effect for the tournament. Players must wear matching short sleeved shirts (not hockey jerseys) with clearly visible numbers on the back and shorts. Only doctor mandated knee or ankle braces may be worn. No watches, rings or bracelets can be worn when playing and ear, nose or lip jewelry must be removed or covered in tape. No hats or bandanas are allowed, the only headwear permitted are types that are held in place with an elastic band - examples are a headband or hairband. Goaltenders must not wear equipment that makes them larger in size and they must have a unique number on their jersey. They cannot wear gloves that have padding, like soccer gloves. Floorball goalie gloves, football receiver gloves or golf gloves are allowed. Proper game attire is a safety issue - thank you for your cooperation!
